Media Converters
Copper-to-fibre conversion for long runs, noisy environments and legacy fibre plants.
A media converter is a small, purpose-built device that bridges two different network transmission media — most commonly copper Ethernet on one side and fibre optic cable on the other. For importers, distributors and system integrators building out a bill of materials, the media converter is often the part that makes an otherwise standard copper design reach further, or connect into a fibre backbone, without replacing the switches at either end. Hui Tong supplies original, brand-new media converters as part of a broader network equipment portfolio, sourcing to order and shipping from warehouses in Shanghai, Beijing, Wuhan and Shenzhen.
What This Product Family Covers and Who Buys It
Media converters extend copper Ethernet links beyond the roughly 100 m limit of twisted-pair cabling by converting the signal to fibre and back again. Typical applications include linking distant points on a campus, connecting equipment inside industrial cabinets to a control room, and inserting a fibre segment into an existing copper network without a forklift upgrade.
The buyers are usually the same people who specify the rest of the rack: importers and distributors stocking fast-moving connectivity items, and system integrators who need a converter to match the fibre already installed on site. Because converters are selected alongside the switches and optics they connect to, we commonly supply them together with industrial Ethernet switches and SFP modules and transceivers.
Listed Media Converter Model
The following model is available through Hui Tong. Specifications are as stated for the listed model only; confirm requirements against your project before ordering.
| Model | Key specification | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Moxa IMC-21A-M-ST | Media converter with ST fibre connector | Original, brand-new unit; supplied to order |
Selection and Sourcing Notes
When specifying a media converter, confirm three things before ordering: the port speed required at each end, the fibre type in place on site (and therefore the fibre interface the converter must provide), and the connector style that matches the existing patch panels and cabling. For the IMC-21A-M-ST listed above, the fibre connector is ST — check that this matches your installed fibre plant.
Sourcing terms through Hui Tong are straightforward for both trial orders and repeat supply:
- Minimum order: from 1 unit, so single-unit evaluation orders and mixed project bills are both workable.
- Payment: T/T, D/P and D/A.
- Warranty: 1-year warranty on supplied equipment.
- Logistics: offices and warehouses in Shanghai, Beijing, Wuhan and Shenzhen, exporting to North America, Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa and Oceania.
Hui Tong is a supplier and exporter of original, brand-new network equipment — we stock, supply and ship; we do not manufacture. All equipment is sourced as original brand-new product.
Next Steps
Building a project bill? Pair the Moxa IMC-21A-M-ST with the right industrial Ethernet switches for the cabinet end, and review SFP modules and transceivers if your design needs fibre uplinks at the switch rather than a standalone converter. Send your model list and quantities to Hui Tong for a quotation under our standard 1-unit minimum, T/T, D/P or D/A terms, with a 1-year warranty.
